She sat on the top of the world
And never looked down.

Tiny feet dangled,
Tickled by stardust.
She sneezed when the comets
Flew by
But other than that
She saw only sky.

She held the moon in her hands
And the stars in her eyes.
Her heart burst with color,
A supernova.
It held a kindness
The universe had never known.

“Sweet sunshine,”
Called the planets,
“Won’t you come to play?”
But she stayed where she sat,
Smile glistening like a meteor shower,
Her feet dangling,
On the top of the world.
