Who else is all sorts of excited for season three of Stranger Things? How many more months? It feels like a small eternity!
I came across this tag at Sarah Sunbeemz and I loved it. It seemed like just the thing to help pass the time until the next season. 🙂
The opening sequence of Stranger Things is amazing and really grabs your attention. Name a book that grabbed your attention from the first page.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. I loved the opening line of that book: “Kell wore a very peculiar coat.”
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Name a fantasy world you would like to experience yourself.
Harry Potter, of course! It’s just on the edge of our universe, so it’s familiar, but I could see Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley and Hogwarts and everything. And there is magic. Somehow, I feel that the world would be ultimately better with magic in it.
When Eleven met Mike, Dustin and Lucas it was a *mostly* perfect team. Name your favourite bookish group of friends.
I really love the Order of the Phoenix, as they are in later books. The trio is good, but add in Neville and Luna and Ginny and the rest of the crew and it’s wonderful. They’re the many misfits of Hogwarts joining together to save the world. What’s cooler than that?
ABC’s & CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Joyce Byers goes mad with grief after Will goes missing. Name your favourite mentally unhinged character.
“Mentally unhinged” characters are complicated. Far too often, they are disrespectfully written. With that in mind, Aoife from The Iron Thorn is quite good. Her whole society believes that she is doomed to go insane because hallucinations are in her blood… what follows in the novel is Aoife proving everyone terribly wrong.
THE UPSIDE DOWN
Name a book that was the opposite of what you expected.
I could say any of the Alice in Wonderland retellings, but I think the one that hit me the hardest was The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor. That one came the closest to being good… and then… just… didn’t. It was the most disappointing.
Dr. Brenner likes to get freaky with humanity. Name the freakiest dystopian government you can think of.
There are so many messed up dystopians. Panem, where children are sacrificed to keep people in their place. Logan’s Run, where people are euthanized at 21. Although I just received a book called Gnomon by Nick Harkaway via PageHabit, and that government has everyone in complete surveillance… and that’s freaky, too.
Name a scary bookish creature that you would not want to come through your walls.
The concept of the Shadow from Inkheart has always been a bit freaky. A nightmare, made life. No thanks!
Name a book that left you wanting more.
A lot of books leave me hungry for more time with the characters, but Daughter of the Burning City destroyed me with how quickly it ended. I wanted so much more time with all them.
Who else is dying for season three? I hope y’all have enjoyed this tag – please do steal it, and check out the original booktube video I linked above! 🙂
