Good morning, my lovelies!
It is March! March! All hail the season of melting snow, Shamrock Shakes, and Caesar’s death. March is a great month, because we’re getting a better amount of sunlight, there are more blue skies than grey, and perhaps some days the temperature will be above freezing! Delightful!
Starting fresh this month, I wanted to share with y’all a new resource for writers, musicians, artists – really anyone with a creative soul. I was contacted by fellow blogger and writer Hailey Hudson early last month about this, and I’m super excited to share it with you all.
Hailey has put together a resource for all creative types, (her quote, from The Greatest Showman, “for anyone who’s bursting with a dream”) . You may be thinking: “I can’t just run off and join the circus.”
But actually, you can. The Hardworking Creative is intended to help creatives pursue their dreams by offering information, community, and resources. To quote my favorite song from The Greatest Showman: “If it seems crazy, live a little crazy!” The site aims to celebrate imagination and passion and all the glitz and glamour along with the pain and tears of what it means to be a creative person.
If you’re like me and you have ideas and inspiration and not a lot of resources and motivation, The Hardworking Creative may have just the tools and interviews you need to get that extra push in the right direction. If you are an artist of any kind, or if you love art, I cannot recommend it enough.
THC will offer biweekly posts on Saturdays, alternating between an interview with a Hardworking Creative and a blog post. Her first interview will drop on March 3, and she’s interviewing a teen indie musician, so definitely make sure to drop in for that one. The non-interviews will have technical information – marketing, professional communication, etc. The meat and potatoes of being a creative type, rather than guessing at the industry.
It’ll be great fun and super helpful, my loves. Definitely worth a peek.
Also, I totally recommend The Greatest Showman. Here’s a fan-made lyrics video to the song I keep referencing here.
