Hi guys.

I had something different scheduled for today, but in light of last weekend… I just… I shelved it.  It didn’t seem right, you know?  Instead, I want to try to do something short and sweet, but also direct.

There’s been a lot of bullshit in America lately.  All over the world.  A lot longer than “just lately”.  The ugliest sides of humanity are being broadcast, those things we like to forget exist, they’re loud and out there and we cannot ignore them.

Racism and bigotry is not going to go away.

I’m not doing enough to be actively anti-racism, but as a small gesture today, I am highlighting YA books by female Black authors coming out in June.  These women are dealing with so damn much in the world.  Racism is so loud right now, and then there’s coronavirus, too?  It’s too much.

Please consider ordering these books and supporting these authors.

Did I miss any YA releases by Black authors for the month of June?  Please let me know in the comments and I will add them to the gallery.  Thanks everyone!

  1. A Song of Wraiths and Ruins has such a beautiful cover. Have you read Cinderella is Dead? I’m not sure if that is released in June but I heard it’s written by a WOC! I’ve heard so many amazing things about it! I’ll be adding more of these to my TBR 😀

Cinderella is Dead gets released in July! It’s definitely one I’m keeping an eye on – you’re right, it’s getting rave reviews and is 100% on my TBR. 🙂 I wasn’t blessed with an ARC, but I am looking forward to reading it. That title had me hooked before I knew anything about the reviews or rep. It sounds incredibly good. 🙂

I am *really* looking forward to A Song Below Water! I preordered it, but it’s delayed because B&N are backordered! So happy for Bethany C. Morrow!
