Lords and Ladies, I Present: King Richard’s Faire

Lords and Ladies, I Present: King Richard’s Faire

Y’all may remember that back in June, I was bemoaning the fact that I had missed ren faire season.  May and June are prime time for a lot of the smaller renaissance faires in New England because there’s no point in competing with all the county fairs in the fall. That is, of course, unless you are a Really Big Renaissance Faire.  There are a couple big ren faires within driving range of where I live, and my husband and I have been toying with the idea of hitting up King Richard’s Faire in Carver, MA for a while now. […]

If You Are Reading This, I am at Disney World (BRIEF HIATUS)

Hello my beautiful monsters, how are you on this glorious Saturday morning? If you’re reading this when it goes live, I’m aboard a plane and Disney bound! Matt and I went to Disney back in 2013 as adults, and discovered that Disney is a totally different experience as an adult.  We don’t have kids, but I’ve heard that a Disney vacation can be really exhausting for the adults when children are running amok?  For that, I’d like to say a great big thank you to my mum and dad, who took us not once, but twice when we were younger and are some […]

Transatlantic Cruise: Iceland (8/8)

Transatlantic Cruise: Iceland (8/8)

Hello my loves. Today is the final – the very last – entry about my Transatlantic Cruise from April.  It was the adventure of a lifetime.  It was exhausting.  It was spectacular.  If you ever have the opportunity to tour Europe – even just a small piece of it – I urge you to go.  It’s a stunning place, filled with levels of history that you have to see to truly understand.  The people are lovely, the buildings are lovelier, and British food is the best. Go. All that said, I feel wholeheartedly that Iceland is the most beautiful place on […]

Transatlantic Cruise: London (7/8)

What does London mean to you? I think of the Beatles, and “London Bridge is falling down, falling down” and Jack the Ripper and that scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows where the dementors are destroying the Millennium Bridge.  One of my favorite scenes I’ve ever written is in my guilty-pleasure WIP So I Married a Demon Hunter in which my MC (Katie) stabs a demon in full formal dress on Durward Street in the rain. I just lost about 30 minutes scrolling through Dean Winchester GIFs and I have no regrets. I really like London. I had high expectations. We […]

Transatlantic Cruise: Paris (6/8)

The city of Paris is an artist’s dream.  Every building is a masterpiece.  The bridges are filigreed and lined with sculptures… It’s incredibly stunning.  I feel so lucky to have been able to see this city.  My only regret is that my pictures are very subpar – we didn’t have any time to wander individually in Paris, so everything was taken through a window. For those of you lovelies just tuning, I’ve been sharing my European adventures on Saturdays over the last month!  Each of these posts standalone, but if you want to check out all the other beautiful destinations, […]
