Transatlantic Cruise: Azores (3/8)

Transatlantic Cruise: Azores (3/8)

This is the third post in an eight post series about my recent Transatlantic cruise and Adventures in Europe!  If you’re just tying in, don’t worry, all these posts can standalone by themselves.  If you would like to see the rest of the series and any discussion about the trip, you can find it here. Today, I want to tell you beautiful people about the Azores Islands.  The Azores were our first stop off the ship after a five day period of confinement and waves.  I think I can speak for all the passengers when I say I think we […]

Transatlantic Cruise: Seven Days At Sea (2/8)

Transatlantic Cruise: Seven Days At Sea (2/8)

Seven total days at sea is a very long time. Last week, I told y’all a bit about cruising and the ship I was on.  Other than the seasickness, I really enjoyed the seven days at sea.  I was about to work a little on my Unnamed Fantasy Bounty Hunter Story, which I was really excited about.  It’s pretty clear to me already that Melyssa, the heroine, is not going to behave the way I want her to.  This story is back into familiar fantasy ground for me, and I’m really excited about it.  I love writing stories about girls […]

Transatlantic Cruise: Meet the Breakaway (1/8)

Transatlantic Cruise: Meet the Breakaway (1/8)

Cruising isn’t for everyone, but I love it. Why? First of all, I hate planes. I have a managed phobia of heights and I nearly always get sick on planes. Besides, I swear, I am uniquely talented and no matter what seat I pick, it is ALWAYS the one right in front of the only baby on the flight. +10pts me. Another reason to love cruises is that they are convenient. You get room, transportation, and food all in one, plus most entertainment. You don’t have to spend anything above cruise fare to have a good time. I’ll talk a […]

Bon Voyage – Two Week Hiatus

Bon Voyage – Two Week Hiatus

My loves, I am heading to Europe. Matt and I planned this transatlantic cruise back in… forever ago?  I don’t even know anymore.  I feel like I’ve been looking forward to it for half my life.  At any rate, as you are reading this, I will be standing on the top deck of the Norwegian Breakaway in the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in NYC, waiting to disembark. This cruise will take us to Azores, Ireland, the UK, and France.  As if that were not enough, we’re also stopping by Iceland on the way home. In order to enjoy my adventure to […]

Long Weekends & Ready Player One

Long Weekends & Ready Player One

Good morning my lovelies, and happy Easter! Whether you’re at Easter Mass, on an egg hunt, or doing positively nothing at all, I hope you have a delightful day! I have had a most amazingly productive book week for the first time in ages, which was a lovely change.  Finished three books this week, all of which have been fairly long-running for me, and all of which I enjoyed.  You should be seeing reviews pop up for The Magicians, Gone With the Wind, and Wizard and Glass throughout the next couple weeks!   Of course, this also means I started new books!  Matt […]

Why “The Last Jedi” is Excellent Storytelling

Why “The Last Jedi” is Excellent Storytelling

Mes chers, I saw The Last Jedi about a month ago now, and honestly… I don’t understand why everyone has been hating on it. I waited several weeks to see it even though I LOVE Star Wars based on so many *meh* reviews from people I respected.  REGRET. It was really fantastic and I walked out of the theatre baffled as to why so many people found it disappointing. I’m trying to think of it from the point-of-view of a typical Star Wars fan, and the closest I can come up with is the fact there were so many grey areas. […]
