Wonderful Books that Need a Spotlight in the Blogosphere

Book bloggers tend to be individuals who read a lot. A LOT.  It’s very easy to fall into the hype of books promoted by one of the bigger influencers in our community.  These books blossom out like wildfire.  And, yes, they’re largely very good.  Things like Six of Crows and Strange the Dreamer.  But there are books – a lot of other books – that slip under the radar.  And they’re good books. Today, I want to share with you some great books that haven’t been really seen by the community as a whole.  Only two of these books are pre-orders (so […]

My 10 Favorite New Authors of 2018 (& 2018 Debut Author Challenge Review!)

Last year, I participated in That Artsy Reader Girl’s 2018 Debut Authors Challenge.  This is a challenge Jana has been running for a few years now, though you probably know her better from Top Ten Tuesday!  The Debut Author Challenge is intended to encourage readers to reach out and support new and upcoming authors.  I’ve got to be honest, without this challenge, I most likely would have missed out of some of my favorite books of 2018. Fall Book Tag

A little more than a year ago, Kyera tagged me in The Fall Book Tag.  At the time, my blogging schedule was so so full, I never found a place to put it without double-posting, but I saved it, because this is a lovely tag and I really wanted to make sure I did it! I love autumn.  I live the whole year for Octobers.  I’m a New Englander – autumn means jack-o-lanterns and sunset-colored treetops and apple cinnamon pie.  Autumn has the best sights, smells, and weather where I live.  This tag was practically made for me. <3 The rules: Please link back to […]

I know I usually say “wow that month went by so fast”, but seriously, y’all, July?  July was a long long month.  I struggled to balance reading with writing with blogging with life with health stuff and sunshine and just everything and I am ready for autumn.  This is how you know I’m a New Englander – I’m ready for fall now. Yes? Yes. July wasn’t so bad – just busy!  I don’t like to be busy – I love me some weekends to sit at home and relish in doing nothing.  It’s the best.  August is gonna be busy too, […]

A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews

A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews

Posted July 16, 2018 in Reviews // 9 Comments

This story is made of heartbreak. I wasn’t sure what to think of A Thousand Perfect Notes at first.  If you look through all the Goodreads reviews, 85% of them all start the same “AHH THE AMAZING CAIT WROTE THIS BOOK.” It’s really difficult to separate the author and the novel.  Cait has a great sense of humor and her blog posts are a delight.  When you have an author with much love and influence in the blogosphere, it’s difficult to know whether the reviews are coming from fans of A Thousand Perfect Notes or fans of Cait Drews. I can’t […]
