Is it really annual wrap up time already? Where did all the time go? This is only the second time I’ve done this annual post in this type of format – I can’t believe I’ve been with The StoryGraph for over a year now. I still love the site – its stats, its acknowledgement of audiobooks, the graphs, the content warnings! There’s a lot on the StoryGraph I haven’t used, but I love what I have used and that it’s still growing! My biggest use of the StoryGraph is for my wrap ups… and none more than the annual wrap […]

A Little Change, & Little Disney, a Little October 2021 Wrap Up

Hello my beautiful monsters! I came across a reel of Anne Frances Murphy singing “A Little Bit Alexis” in Schitt’s Creek a couple weeks ago, and it’s been annoyingly in my head ever since. We actually just finished Schitt’s Creek (I’m not a binge-watcher) so a year later, I’m finally caught up with the rest of the world! October is my favorite month of the year. At the beginning of October, we were just coming back from Alaska and at the end of October, we headed south to Orlando, Florida. In between these two adventures, we’ve been lucky to have […]

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

Back in 2006, American Gods was my first Neil Gaiman book. A friend at the time insisted it was the most incredible thing, so much so that she bought me a copy and I read it. When she asked what I thought, like any good friend, I lied and told her I loved it. I hadn’t read it since, until now. I still don’t particularly enjoy American Gods. The book is far too long and meandering for my taste. A great deal of me appreciates the way Gaiman writes, because his language is something of poetry in itself, not too […]

Goodbye to Sweltering Days and Hello to Beautiful Autumn – August Wrap Up!

Goodbye to Sweltering Days and Hello to Beautiful Autumn – August Wrap Up!

Hello everyone!  As I am every year, I am so excited to be slipping gently into autumn and leaving all the sweat and misery of summer behind.  What can I say?  I’m not a summer person.  Our summer has only had two modes here in New England – withering heat with miserable humidity or rain. Rain, rain, rain.  We got a new hammock chair for the deck back and June, and the weather said, “That’s hilarious!” and assured we could only rarely enjoy our deck.  Alas. There’s been a lot of positivity in August as well.  For starters, we came […]

Dear Greece, You Have My Heart – My July Wrap Up

Dear Greece, You Have My Heart – My July Wrap Up

When this post drops, I’ll be back from Greece, but only just.  With any luck we’ve stayed awake just long enough to bribe the cats into loving us again, then gone straight to bed for the day before heading back to work tomorrow.  Travel days are the longest, but they are still lovely, because I am grateful for any adventure. This post is going to be short and sweet, a lighter wrap up while I recover from vacation. Thank you loves, and I’m excited to tell you a bit more about the trip starting on August 20th. All the things […]
