Hello my beautiful monsters! I came across a reel of Anne Frances Murphy singing “A Little Bit Alexis” in Schitt’s Creek a couple weeks ago, and it’s been annoyingly in my head ever since. We actually just finished Schitt’s Creek (I’m not a binge-watcher) so a year later, I’m finally caught up with the rest of the world! October is my favorite month of the year. At the beginning of October, we were just coming back from Alaska and at the end of October, we headed south to Orlando, Florida. In between these two adventures, we’ve been lucky to have […]

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

This is the part where I’m supposed to talk about how much I didn’t like An Abundance of Katherines. How I think it’s John Green’s worst book, how it’s completely unrealistic and the characters are unreliable and the romance(s) are ridiculous and the Muslim representation is a mess. I’ve been in the book community and I’ve been reading John Green long enough to know the community’s opinions on An Abundance of Katherines. The thing is… I don’t feel that way at all. In fact, An Abundance of Katherine’s is my favorite John Green novel. It’s a highly controversial opinion and […]

Goodbye to Sweltering Days and Hello to Beautiful Autumn – August Wrap Up!

Goodbye to Sweltering Days and Hello to Beautiful Autumn – August Wrap Up!

Hello everyone!  As I am every year, I am so excited to be slipping gently into autumn and leaving all the sweat and misery of summer behind.  What can I say?  I’m not a summer person.  Our summer has only had two modes here in New England – withering heat with miserable humidity or rain. Rain, rain, rain.  We got a new hammock chair for the deck back and June, and the weather said, “That’s hilarious!” and assured we could only rarely enjoy our deck.  Alas. There’s been a lot of positivity in August as well.  For starters, we came […]

Dear Greece, You Have My Heart – My July Wrap Up

When this post drops, I’ll be back from Greece, but only just.  With any luck we’ve stayed awake just long enough to bribe the cats into loving us again, then gone straight to bed for the day before heading back to work tomorrow.  Travel days are the longest, but they are still lovely, because I am grateful for any adventure. This post is going to be short and sweet, a lighter wrap up while I recover from vacation. Thank you loves, and I’m excited to tell you a bit more about the trip starting on August 20th. All the things […]

Cover Buys, ARE YOU A VICTIM?

This week’s Book Blogger Hop question is the silliest ever. Are you ready?  The silliness of it will blow your mind.  Put on your anti-mind-blowing helmet for extra protection. Have you ever bought a book because you liked its cover art?   I’m just going to wait here a moment while everyone in the room raises their hand. This one was added by the host of the hop, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  I’m being a little mean about it, but honestly?  Have you ever met a reader who hasn’t said, at least once, “Yeah, I really […]
