My loves, I open today with a quote: “Once and again, I stray down and listen to the duet of the brook and wind, and watch the sunbeams creeping through the dark boughs, the gossamers glimmering here and there, and the ferns growing up in the shadowy nooks.”   Lucy Maud Montgomery was in love with her island home.  The sighs in the orchard and the gloriousness of summer peeking over green hills blossoms to life in her books.  The above excerpt from her journal is enough to take your breath away with only a hint of imagination required. Have you guys heard about this “Great American Read” television show?  If you use the Goodreads web platform, it’s difficult to miss – the ad has been plastered all over mine for a couple months. Since I just got back from my European adventures Saturday night, this is going to be short and sweet because my loves, I am back to work today and I need to majorly get back into work mode.  Trust me, I am 100% still soaking at Blue Lagoon. In spirit. The Monthly Haul I meant to tone it down with April’s haul, but, haha, I am hilarious.  I found SALES at Barnes & Noble!  I am hopeless. Y’all should see the condition of my bookcase.  It’s a mess. So OF COURSE after Anne of the Island, I HAD to get the […]

I often find comfort in books.  Whether it’s a lighthearted jab or deep words of wisdom, or a moment of inspiration… books have a lot of things to say about life and love and humor and hope. Today, I’m going to share a few favorites with you. <3 “The thing about growing up with Fred and George,” said Ginny thoughtfully, “is that you sort of start thinking anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” . ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince . . . “Even a book can be dangerous in the wrong hands, and when that happens, you […]
