The Bookish Swag Dilemma

The Bookish Swag Dilemma

I love my fandom merch as much as the next girl.  Finding art and mugs and bookmarks and tote bags designed around my favorite stories is always exhilerating.  Especially when things are created around less popular fandoms, or when they’re particularly original. Still, across several years of subscribing on and off to multiple book boxes, I discovered something. There is such thing as too much merch for me. I know, what a shock? Maybe it was Marie Kondo or maybe just good common sense, but I finally had to step back and acknowledge that I was getting a lot of “stuff”, […]

Mythical Menagerie // Ink & Wonder’s May 2019 WONDER CRATE

I’ve been watching Ink and Wonder Designs for the last two years because I love their gorgeous designs.  Ink and Wonder uses so many beautiful colors and the art has so much pop.  Unfortunately, Australia is a long way from the Eastern coast of the United States, and it hasn’t always been feasible for me to order one of their boxes, because of the shipping.  With the Wonder Crate rebranding a bit, the price came down and… I wanted to try it. May’s box was Mythical Menagerie, featuring all our favorite mythical creatures from across books and pop culture.  For […]

Another month of Nerdy Post!  For those who haven’t popped over for my other Nerdy Post unboxing, Nerdy Post is a monthly subscription box that centers around a theme.  There are different tiers of box that cost different amounts, depending upon what you want to receive. The May theme was the Weasleys!  Nerdy Post has done a Harry Potter box before, but this is the first time […]

A few weeks ago, I did a post highlighting some of my favorite book bloggers.  One of these ladies – NovelKnight – also keeps a bookstagram feed I watch religiously.  Recently, she spoke a little about ARCs, repping, and honest opinions. Sign me up for this discussion, guys, because it’s a good one. As bloggers, bookstagrammers, and general influencers in the bookish community, we have a responsibility to give a genuine, honest review of the novels we read and the items we purchase. With items we’re buying on our own, this is easy!  I know people squirm about giving negative […]

Bookish Things That Aren’t Books – Some Fab Swag I Love

Bookish Things That Aren’t Books – Some Fab Swag I Love

There are two reasons why I keep subscribing to book boxes. The first is that OwlCrate has forced me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things.  For example, The Hearts We Sold and Foolish Hearts are books I wouldn’t have picked up on my own, and I loved them both.  Also the exclusive covers are a huge perk for me. The second reason is the swag! Frankly speaking, if you don’t enjoy the swag in a book box, there’s really no point in subscribing.  The books themselves, even in hard copy at full price, still come to about […]
