March Nerdy Post Unboxing // Young Adult // SPOILERS!

March Nerdy Post Unboxing // Young Adult // SPOILERS!

I don’t think that I’ve seen any unboxings for Nerdy Post on anyone’s blog?  As far as swag boxes go, I don’t think I’ve overstitching to say that it’s one of the more popular, reliable ones.  Even though it’s a bookish box that doesn’t contain a book, I think it’s a pretty good box if you’re interested in the theme and are looking for some fun swag items for Instagram, or to spruce up your personal space. Nerdy Post has a few different levels of boxes, depending on what you’d like included.  The cost of these boxes range from $9.95 […]

20 Questions Book Tag

20 Questions Book Tag

Back in June, the lovely Iris tagged me to participate in the 20 Questions Book Tag!  Have y’all even played 20 questions?  Most frustrating game ever – I feel like it always ends up being way more than 20 questions, and I never guess it right! The book tag version is much more fun.  Thanks for the tag, Iris, and y’all make sure you go check out Hoard of Books! Question One How many books are too many books in a book series? I think it depends on the series.  I would take about twelve more various Harry Potter books […]

Fight Like a YA Girl Tag

Fight Like a YA Girl Tag

Well this is probably the neatest tag title I’ve seen.  Who doesn’t love a kickass YA girl?  In the last decade, the genre is flooded with really awesome female characters.  I’m okay with this… even if sometimes they’re a little repetitive.  This topic ties in really well with my Top Ten Kickass Female Characters post from a couple weeks ago, so lets continue the discussion! This tag was stolen from Kyera @ Kyera’s Library back in July.  Thanks for sharing it, Kyera – I love it! THE RULES Thank the person who tagged you. Mention the creator Krysti at YA and […]

August Wrap Up! // Featuring: Lakes, Cakes, AND DOC BROWN!

Welcome Ladies & Gents, to the August Wrap Up! August has been a busy month!  For me, there’s been vacations and birthdays and a trip to the dentist (BLECH), and a solar eclipse!  I am so so proud of myself because I have posted every day this month!  I know a lot of people are heading back to school within a week, if they haven’t already.  Can you believe summer’s almost over?  SHEESH.  I think that we all have had a crazy month, so let’s get down to it!  EXCITING THINGS ARE AFOOT, MY PHOENIX FRIENDS. No, not that kind […]

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Oh, Caraval I really, really, really wanted to like this book.  I was so excited when I got it in my OwlCrate back in February!  Everything everyone was saying about this book was sparklers and fireworks and spellbinding magic.  A lot of it still is!  There were certainly aspects of this book that I enjoyed, but overall, it just wasn’t for me. Characters I immediately disliked all of the characters.  I just couldn’t bring myself to care about any of them.  They were too flat and quickly changing for my tastes.  Dontella’s characterization was immediately selfish and foolish whereas Scarlett was […]

February Round Up!

February Round Up!

Well folks, that’s two months down, ten more to go.  How’s the TBR pile going? February was a pretty bookish month for me, both regarding the incoming and the outgoing novels!  Firstly, I received my first ARC-for-review in February!   Drawn Away by Holly Bennett One minute Jack’s in math class. The next, he’s on a dark, cobblestoned, empty street. Empty, that is, except for a skinny girl wrapped in a threadbare shawl. “Matches, mister?” she asks, and just like that, Jack’s life collides with one of Hans Christian Andersen’s grimmest tales. And just when he has almost convinced himself […]
