Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag: 2019 Edition

Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag: 2019 Edition

It’s that time again! Every year in mid-late June, I like to participate in the Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag.  It’s a bit of an institution here in the bookish community – I see it on bookstagram, booktube, and the book blogs alike.  It’s a great time to check in and see where I’m at, and to share some favorites with you. Every year, I try a choose a different blogger from the previous year to steal the tag from.  This year, I’ll be using the set of questions from Scorpio Book Dreams.  If you haven’t checked out Rachael’s blog […]

Candy Hearts, ARC Attack, & Busyness – February Wrap Up!

Candy Hearts, ARC Attack, & Busyness – February Wrap Up!

The end of February always throws me off.  it feels like we should have another week, right?  But the end is nigh and March is upon us.  March is my least favorite month of the year, largely because we get hit with the worst of the winter weather in March.  Fortunately I have a contingency plan for that and plan to spend a week of March in the Caribbean. 10/10 I recommend this winter escaping tactic. In the meanwhile, let’s talk books. 😉 Okay, okay.  I know.  This looks bad, right?  Especially bad for being on a book buying ban.  I […]

Wonderful Books that Need a Spotlight in the Blogosphere

Wonderful Books that Need a Spotlight in the Blogosphere

Book bloggers tend to be individuals who read a lot. A LOT.  It’s very easy to fall into the hype of books promoted by one of the bigger influencers in our community.  These books blossom out like wildfire.  And, yes, they’re largely very good.  Things like Six of Crows and Strange the Dreamer.  But there are books – a lot of other books – that slip under the radar.  And they’re good books. Today, I want to share with you some great books that haven’t been really seen by the community as a whole.  Only two of these books are pre-orders (so […]

Enchantée by Gita Trelease

Enchantée by Gita Trelease

I’m positively enchanted by Enchantée. I must admit, when I requested this ARC from NetGalley, I had my reservations.  This is one of those examples where the online bookish community really came through for me.  I discovered Enchantée through a giveaway on Roshani Chokshi’s page.  There was a massive joint giveaway for six ARCs upcoming in 2019, and when I got to Gita Trelease’s page, Enchantée stood out.  Why?  The cover is freaking gorgeous. So when I saw it on NetGalley, I figured – sure, I’ll request that!  Two weeks-ish later, I got my acceptance email, and I read 40% of the book that first […]

2019 Releases I Can’t Wait For!

2019 Releases I Can’t Wait For!

One of the best and most exciting things of the new year is the new slew of books that are coming!  A couple of these, I’ve been waiting for since 2017, so they’ve been on my radar for a while – others are sequels to books I’ve read this year.  One way or the other, I’m so excited for these books and I want to share them with you, because I hope you’re excited for them too! Okay, so a few of these I received as ARCs?  But I’m really excited for everyone to read them, so they made the list! 🙂     […]

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, This Is My December Wrap Up!

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, This Is My December Wrap Up!

Happy December, loves. This is it.  This is the end of the year, and fresh with good memories and bad ones – joy and regret.  This is the final push to reach our reading and writing and blogging goals.  I’ll be doing a proper 2018 wrap up tomorrow, but suffice it to say that things went well this year, at least as far as reading goes! I hope everyone has had a marvelous holiday season!  For myself, I am exhausted and excited for the year to be swinging to an end.  The holidays are always delightful, but tiring, don’t you […]
