Good morning everyone!  How has the beginning of 2020 gone for everyone so far?  Has everyone stuck to their New Years Resolutions?  I’m rubbish at resolutions, if I’m being completely honest, but one of my big ones this year is to take better care of myself physically – sleep, hydration, diet, etc.  I mean, most people have that, right?  Here’s hoping that I can keep to it, and you all are doing amazingly on your resolutions as well! Every year, I do a bit of a review on my blog to look at all the reading I did in the […]

January Wrap Up: ALL the Books Hauled, a Little Editing, and New Year Blues <3

I set out into 2019 with the intention to slay my reading list, and I feel like I’m at a really good spot!  I think I’m finally settling back in after destroying myself in November.  The blogs fairly well scheduled ahead, and I’m reading my ARCs more or less as I get them. Things in my blogging and bookish world are good, y’all?  I really hope this is an omen for the rest of the year. OKAY SO. A couple of weeks ago, I participated in the Off-The-Grid Readathon! This is the second time I’ve done this readathon and I really enjoy it. It gives me the opportunity to get out of my head and away from social media and mindless drivel for a bit and into the world of a book… and really focus on it. In review, the Off-the-Grid Readathon is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and Justine @ I Should Read That. It’s a three-day event where you read whatever you want, but the condition is, you’ve got to put your electronics away […]

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander

Full disclosure:  I’ve never been crazy about the book version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I’m talking the original version, the wee little paperback published to support Comic Relief back in 2001.  Although if I’m being completely honest, I also think that the published scripts from the films are a bit of a money grab.  But they’re selling and people like them, so what do I know? This little book is the first one in the Hogwarts Library series, a little sub-series of companion books to Harry Potter to raise money (well, except for Tales of Beedle the Bard) for charity. […]

Hello loves! Back in October, I participated in the first ever Off-The-Grid Readathon.  Generally speaking, I’m not big on  readathons, but I love this one.  The whole point of the Off-The-Grid readathon is to put your phone down and to read as much as possible.  Last year, I finished three books during the readathon and really enjoyed participating.  Co-hosts Shanah and Justine run this readathon four times a year… and the second one ever starts today! If you’re not busy this weekend, you’re invited! What: The Off-The-Grid Readathon Where: The comfiest reading place you know. When:  Friday, January 11th @ 12:00 […]
