New Books, New Hobbies, New Look: My January Wrap Up!

New Books, New Hobbies, New Look: My January Wrap Up!

January is the month that lasts forever. Here in the northern hemisphere, January is the first full month of really, really cold.  Well, at least it is in Massachusetts.  I’m looking forward to the thaw – I’m tired of shivering and numb fingers.  Grateful to have a home and a place with heat, so I try to focus on life’s small blessings instead of the single digit temperatures. I am not a winter person, I swear. But there’s been a lot of things going on this month, so that can also be exciting! The Monthly Haul Um. So.  I tripped […]

Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin

Disclaimer: I received this book for free from NetGalley and Wednesday Books in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. If you are looking for a ruthless, black-hearted tale of dark revenge, then Foul is Fair is absolutely the book you need. To Succeed, Or Not to Succeed? That is the Question. (Retelling-a-Thon Wrap Up!)

To Succeed, Or Not to Succeed? That is the Question. (Retelling-a-Thon Wrap Up!)

So as you guys know, I announced a little more than a week ago that I would be participating in this year’s Retelling-a-Thon… specifically Shakespeare Week!  Retelling-a-Thon is actually a pretty small little readathon.  It’s hosted by Frayed Books, and this week was hosted by Harker over at The Hermit Librarian, so a big heaping thanks to the both of them for this fun little readathon! For Shakespeare week, I committed to reading seven books in my original announcement post.  To review, these were: Foul is Fair by Hannah Chapin Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard Tandem by […]

In Which It’s Too Hot, I Do Two Readathons, & I Bombard You With Reviews: The July Wrap Up!

In Which It’s Too Hot, I Do Two Readathons, & I Bombard You With Reviews: The July Wrap Up!

Good morning everyone! I’ll be completely honest, July didn’t go quite the way I was expecting in the book department!  That’s not a bad thing, but it was different!  I was planning to join with the Camp NaNoWriMo spirit and do a lot of writing and learning about writing, and instead I ended up participating in two readathons! It’s been fun but stressful.  It’s also been hot here in New England!  The heat waves have been coming by brutally, so it’s be a good time to read. And the reading?  The reading was good this month.  I actually delayed this wrap […]

Retelling-A-Thon Annoucement: Team Shakespeare!

Retelling-A-Thon Annoucement: Team Shakespeare!

Good morning everyone!  Happy Sunday! After having so much fun with the Reading Rush, I took to Twitter to find another readathon.  Yes, yes, I know.  I’ve come a long way from shrugging off readathons!  Honestly, after I signed up for this one, there was a moment of deep regret.  Not because of the readathon, because it’s super cool!  Just more…  I kind of miss my writing and when I’m deep into reading and blogging like this, I don’t have time for both. BUT. Here we are! For August, I’ve decided to sign up for Retelling-a-Thon! For most, August is […]
