2017: My Year In Books

2017: My Year In Books

This is going to be a really long post.  I’ve got nearly 100 linked reviews at the end with hover-over mini reviews, which makes up a lot of it, but I worked hard on this one and I hope you enough my ANNUAL RECAP. Oh my gosh, guys, 2017 flew by, didn’t it?  I had a pretty crappy start to the year, but I know 2018 will be better!  I’ve already got plans to make it better, and part of that includes reading consistently throughout the year and devouring amazing stories.  I read nearly 100 books this year, most of […]

Harry’s quest is nearing an end. Since Dumbledore’s death, Harry has known it is his turn to pick up the mantle of destroying Voldemort, and that he will not be able to return home to Hogwarts.  As the hunt for Horcruxes looms over him, he has a single lead:  the fake necklace and the note signed “R.A.B.”.  He plans to go alone, and bring Voldemort to his end. What follows is a cross-country adventure as Harry – joined by his friends – break into Gringotts, duel death eaters, and are intrigued by the story of something called “The Deathly […]

Fight Like a YA Girl Tag

Fight Like a YA Girl Tag

Well this is probably the neatest tag title I’ve seen.  Who doesn’t love a kickass YA girl?  In the last decade, the genre is flooded with really awesome female characters.  I’m okay with this… even if sometimes they’re a little repetitive.  This topic ties in really well with my Top Ten Kickass Female Characters post from a couple weeks ago, so lets continue the discussion! This tag was stolen from Kyera @ Kyera’s Library back in July.  Thanks for sharing it, Kyera – I love it! THE RULES Thank the person who tagged you. Mention the creator Krysti at YA and […]

I Suck at Readathons, Readathon

I Suck at Readathons, Readathon

So you guys know about how I don’t do readathons, right? I did one.  From September 18th to the 22nd!  Crazy right? Jade @ Drink Coffee and Read Books turned me on to this one, and it is so little, I couldn’t resist.  I joined in the I Suck at Readathons Readathon!  This is run by Booktuber Sam @ Sam’s Nonsense.  You can view her Video Announcement or the Official Twitter Page. Rather than go crazy and have a huge stack of books, Sam wanted to gear this readathon towards community and make the reading challenge really simply.  There’s almost zero […]

Top Ten Books I Read in 2011 (The Year I Started Keeping Track) – #TTT

For a lot of the younger bloggers, this may seem CRAZY, but an Excel spreadsheet used to be the PRIME way to keep track of the books you read.  I never used to keep track at all… I just read.  It wasn’t until 2011, when I was a senior in college (#old) and taking my last handful of writing courses that I was challenged to start keeping track of the books I read.  Actually, it wasn’t a challenge.  One of my writing professors was FLABBERGASTED we hadn’t kept track all this time, and it became an urgent assignment. I’m glad […]
