My “Crossing” Booklist: Ten Favorite Books I Would Take To The New World (2020 Edition)

You know that old question: “If you were stuck on a desert island and could only have 10 books, which 10 would you pick”?  It’s an old question, and one that pops up on Top Ten lists all the time.  In fact, I’ve already done a post like this, back in 2018!  At the time, the Top Ten Tuesday meme had a lot of great answers I’d ever thought of… including books that would actually be useful on a desert island. Honestly, I always interpreted that questions as “you’re stuck on an island, what books would you read over and over […]

The June Wrap Up: With Movies, MasterClass, & SO MANY BOOKS

The June Wrap Up: With Movies, MasterClass, & SO MANY BOOKS

Happy July everyone! This month reminds me of picnics and spending summers at the lake by my family.  We didn’t have a lake house or anything, but there was a really nice beach in bicycling distance and there were some summers when we were there every day. Ah, life was so much simpler when I was twelve. My OTP Narrator/Book Matches

I am a HUGE audiobook listener – more than 2/3 of my reading the last two years has been via audiobooks.  So color me surprised when I went to review my “read by” section of my review archive, only to discover that I’ve only listened to a handful of narrators a couple times.  This post was supposed to be about ten amazing narrators, but instead, I’m giving you something else. One of the audiobook pain points that came up for the post a couple weeks ago was that a bad narrator ruins a book.  I am 100% on board with this […]
