A couple weeks ago, I was skulking over at Kyera’s Library and she posted this awesome present that her mother gave her. For her birthday, her mother made her two homemade bookish boxes a la OwlCrate, etc., and they were creative and brilliantly done (check them out). I thought it was a fabulous idea and from time to time, I’m going to share with you themed book boxes that I would create! I wanted to start off easy, so the central figure in today’s homemade book box is the stunning 20th Anniversary Edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – Ravenclaw […]

While a lot of love in the bookish community goes to MCs and mortal enemies, the minor characters don’t get enough love. These are some of my favorite characters. They make the books shine, and honestly? Some of them FLAT OUT steal the show. These underappreciated, underloved, small character are what this week’s Top 5 Tuesday is all about! Shanah @ The Bionic Bookworm hosts this super fun weekly feature. This week, she encouraged everyone to pick ten characters, but I’m going to stick with five, because I’m a REBEL. As always, Top 5 Tuesdays are hosted by Shanah @ The Bionic Bookworm, and her prompt is: Top 5 buzzwords that make me want to read a book. Pirate I am a sucker for […]
Although this list is nowhere near complete (what with not updating reading dates on some old favorite books I reread) – here’s Goodreads’ evaluation on my books read in 2016! I always set myself a goal of 24 books – two a month – but I don’t stop there! This year, I hope to beat 48, but we’ll see how it goes! I’ll post again sometime this week about my favorites and least favorites of the year.
March 8th is International Women’s Day, and in honor of that event, I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about three women in literature who inspire me. As a disclaimer, you must keep in mind that I mostly dabble in the world of YA Fantasy, and so my choices are from that world. This is not to say that women like Scarlet O’Hara and Jane Eyre aren’t inspirational… they are simply ones that weren’t selected this time through. Ready? Go. Max Maximum Ride, James Patterson While I generally disliked the Maximum Ride serious (or at least failed to be […]
