So Long to Apple Cider & Autumn Leaves: The October Wrap Up

So Long to Apple Cider & Autumn Leaves: The October Wrap Up

October is my favorite month of the year.  Between the spooky Halloween aesthetics, nutmeg and clove in the air, and beautiful leaves… it’s the most gorgeous month of the year in New England.  Add in the fact that it’s no longer 90-degrees with 100% humidity and that my birthday is in October, this is just generally a good month.  And while I’m sad to see it go, I’m excited to see what November will bring. Without further ado, I present: October. Remember last month when I only hauled two books?  Yeah, that was adorable.  The beginning of October typical means a […]

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #5: Where? BACK TO THE FUTURE.

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #5: Where? BACK TO THE FUTURE.

Today is October 21st. Heart of Iron and I have sort of a weird relationship.  I think at the end of the day, I didn’t like it.  But the thing is… I couldn’t stop reading it.  It’s not a train wreck or anything like that – it’s just really immersive.  And that’s good! This novel is an Anastasia retelling in a space outlaw setting.  In many ways, it’s similar to L1F3LIKE, which I read earlier this year.  Of course it is – they’re both high-tech Anastasia retellings!  I honestly do believe I may have enjoyed Heart of Iron more if I hadn’t read L1F3LIKE, or if I has read […]

March Wrap Up

March Wrap Up

My loves, I am exhausted.  February and March are always difficult months for me, with many thanks to the glorious New England weather.  I can only do so much with grey skies and snowstorms, you know?  This month’s wrap up is going to be brief – mostly just to say hi and let you know what’s been going on in my library these days and see how you all are doing! My haul was pretty low key this month, which is fine!  I didn’t go out and buy any of these except Children of Blood and Bone – all pre-orders, ARCs […]
