I’ll admit, the first time I saw a trailer for the 2019 Little Women movie, I balked.  This has nothing to do with the trailer or the fact that this movie was being made… and everything to do with the fact that I loved the 1994 version and dislike when there are remakes of perfectly good movies. But I love Emma Watson and I love Saoirse Ronan, so between that and the 100% always positive reviews, I wore down and went to see the film at the end of January.  And man, I am going to acquire so much hate for this post […]

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post!  I know I haven’t been participating consistently in this meme, but this week, I couldn’t resist!  I think all of us bloggers have some solid opinions about what we do and don’t like, and sometimes it’s difficult to express those opinions for fear of backlash. But I am always one for a salty post… so I’m totally here for this.  Y’all ready?  I’ve got some unpopular bookish opinions for y’all. Have you guys heard about this “Great American Read” television show?  If you use the Goodreads web platform, it’s difficult to miss – the ad has been plastered all over mine for a couple months. There’s a lot of interesting books on this list, although I can’t imagine choosing just one book for an entire country.  PBS came up with 100 books for this competition, a mixture of popular modern reads and timeless classics.  I’ve read 37, how many have you read? 1984 by George Orwell ✓ A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole X A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving X A Separate […]

BEFORE YOU ALL RUN AWAY SCREAMING ABOUT HOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BOOK BLOG. Every once and a while, I want to take a moment to highlight a blog that I really enjoy, think is creative and clever, or one that I just feel like sharing with you.  I was chatting in the comments of Saturday’s post about food in writing and how it is awesome, and I remembered this blog I started following a few years ago when I mistakenly believed I could food!blog (it was a terrible idea).  It was AMAZING because it combined my two […]
