Once Upon a Time Book Tag

Once Upon a Time Book Tag

Posted September 4, 2020 in Tags // 3 Comments

Good morning everyone! This month, I’ll be doing a tag I picked up from Iris @ Hoard of Books (recently rebranded to Countless Words With Iris)!  Iris completed this tag back in 2017, so it’s another oldie-but-goodie.  This was originally created by Sugar Dusted Pages and, according to Lenna, the “Once Upon a Time” Book Tag is all about bookish firsts… and how much fun is that? Full stop, though, Iris actually tagged me to do this one back in 2017, which I only just now noticed going through and copying the questions.  I am officially the worst tag follow-upper.  I’m sure […]

A Walk Down Memory Lane: Scholastic Book Fairs

A Walk Down Memory Lane: Scholastic Book Fairs

I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today. Who remembers going to Scholastic Book Fairs when they were younger? Those things were the best, right?  I am so glad they’re still around, because they were a highlight of my school year.  I still remember that moment when it felt like books were going to go digital and I remember one of my concerns being these book fairs… so many kids would want to go just to get out of class and go, and they’d find a book and it would change everything.  Not that it is an impossible stretch in a technologically driven world, but […]

I set out into 2019 with the intention to slay my reading list, and I feel like I’m at a really good spot!  I think I’m finally settling back in after destroying myself in November.  The blogs fairly well scheduled ahead, and I’m reading my ARCs more or less as I get them. Things in my blogging and bookish world are good, y’all?  I really hope this is an omen for the rest of the year. OKAY SO. Remember how in my 2019 Blogging Goals post, I spoke about how I was instituting a book buying ban on myself for 2019? Well […]

Hello loves! Back in October, I participated in the first ever Off-The-Grid Readathon.  Generally speaking, I’m not big on  readathons, but I love this one.  The whole point of the Off-The-Grid readathon is to put your phone down and to read as much as possible.  Last year, I finished three books during the readathon and really enjoyed participating.  Co-hosts Shanah and Justine run this readathon four times a year… and the second one ever starts today! If you’re not busy this weekend, you’re invited! What: The Off-The-Grid Readathon Where: The comfiest reading place you know. When:  Friday, January 11th @ 12:00 […]

I loved this book when I was a kid.  Like all books I purchased from the Scholastic Book Fair, it holds nostalgia to a time when days were easier and all I really had to worry about was what country I wanted to write an essay about (Honduras) or how to say french fries in Spanish (papas fritas). Being a kid was fantastic, right? So a little bit of my review here is biased, simply because I remember reading this book when I was in elementary school and thinking it was SO COOL.  As an adult, it holds some problems.  […]
