Good morning everyone! I know that the bookish world has some FEELINGS about the Percy Jackson movies.  If I can be completely honest, I saw the Percy Jackson films before I read the books, so I remember entering the book community and seeing all the hate and going “I remember enjoying these… why is this a thing?” However.  After reading Sea of Monsters and honestly… not liking it… I was feeling brave.  I thought – okay, I remember enjoying this movie! I think this came in two parts for me.  First of all, I never felt the stakes were as high as The Lightning Thief.  Sure, there were stakes to be had and they were important, but I never felt the pressure on them like I did in the first book.  Maybe that’s because this isn’t really Percy’s quest.  Where the […]

Welcome Ladies & Gents, to the August Wrap Up! August has been a busy month!  For me, there’s been vacations and birthdays and a trip to the dentist (BLECH), and a solar eclipse!  I am so so proud of myself because I have posted every day this month!  I know a lot of people are heading back to school within a week, if they haven’t already.  Can you believe summer’s almost over?  SHEESH.  I think that we all have had a crazy month, so let’s get down to it!  EXCITING THINGS ARE AFOOT, MY PHOENIX FRIENDS. No, not that kind […]
