October is my favorite month of the year.  Between the spooky Halloween aesthetics, nutmeg and clove in the air, and beautiful leaves… it’s the most gorgeous month of the year in New England.  Add in the fact that it’s no longer 90-degrees with 100% humidity and that my birthday is in October, this is just generally a good month.  And while I’m sad to see it go, I’m excited to see what November will bring. I never read Pippi Longstocking as a child, so I figured – no time like the present!  This is a beloved childrens book to many and I’ve always been aware or Pippi, even without reading about her.  After all, how can one forget about the little girl in with bright red pigtail braids that stick straight out from her head?  I’m pretty sure my mum dressed me as her one year for Halloween when I was little.
