Rejected Princesses by Jason Porath

Rejected Princesses by Jason Porath

I finally finished this book and I wish I had more. I’ve been slowly making my way through this book all year and I want everyone who reads this review to know:  it’s not because of the book.  I struggle through essays and short story collections.  This isn’t because they are horrible.  It’s because they’re missing a consistent plot line.  As far as short stories go?  Rejected Princesses is awesome. I want to throw a little love at Jason Porath. Jason Porath is, in his own words, “A straight white dude from Kentucky.”  He’s not a likely candidate to be […]

September Wrap-Up

September Wrap-Up

Well that month went by fast. Hi everyone, and welcome to my September Wrap Up… conveniently located in October!  As I was trying to schedule out my month, I realized a bit too late that September was filled… oops!  I ended up rearranging a lot of my scheduling but good news?  I have a calendar for the rest of the year now!  And that’s super important, because I’ve got reviews scheduled all the way out into November… oops? Warning:  This post features NO GIFs.  My computer is being super laggy and dumb and it kept crashing while I was trying […]

I Suck at Readathons, Readathon

I Suck at Readathons, Readathon

So you guys know about how I don’t do readathons, right? I did one.  From September 18th to the 22nd!  Crazy right? Jade @ Drink Coffee and Read Books turned me on to this one, and it is so little, I couldn’t resist.  I joined in the I Suck at Readathons Readathon!  This is run by Booktuber Sam @ Sam’s Nonsense.  You can view her Video Announcement or the Official Twitter Page. Rather than go crazy and have a huge stack of books, Sam wanted to gear this readathon towards community and make the reading challenge really simply.  There’s almost zero […]

The Monstrous, Half-Blood, Ruby Princess – #IMWAYR

The Monstrous, Half-Blood, Ruby Princess – #IMWAYR

So I’ve been reading a lot more books than I usually do, and I’m quite proud of myself. I think it’s because I have stumbled into the section of my TBR with a bunch of MG, short, and light and fluffy novels.  But that’s cool – I’m really enjoying them.  Percy Jackson was WONDERFUL and I’m nearly done with Ruby Red right now, and YUM.  How have I not gotten to these before? #shame I’m going to start with the older books first, then move on to the newer ones, yes?  Yes. So REJECTED PRINCESSES. This is the book that […]

July Wrap Up

July Wrap Up

July is gone, and I’m posting this today so I can focus on Harry Potter’s birthday tomorrow.  I swear, I’m not a Harry Potter nerd. LIES! #Ravenclaw4Life I’ve had mixed feelings about this month’s books.  There’ve been a couple of DNFs, but on the other hand there were books that I really loved!  It was a high/low month and nothing inbetween.   THE JULY HAUL Click the image to go to the Goodreads page! HARD COPIES                                      DIGITAL AUDIOBOOKS                 LENDING HAUL         […]

The Strange Case of the Rejected Lady & the Half-Blood Myth – #IMWAYR

The Strange Case of the Rejected Lady & the Half-Blood Myth – #IMWAYR

It’s Monday, What are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by The Book Date.  It’s a great way to catch up on all the literary ins-and-outs of the previous week, and see what everyone is up to.  Check out this week’s linkup! It’s been a little while since I’ve done one of these!  My entry “Confessions” pretty much sums up my absence this time…. I do apologize, for anyone reading, mais voila!  Here I am again! I’ve actually had a very productive week as I’ve delved back into my audiobooks and finished an ARC I won back in January (*guilt*).  The highlight of […]
