The #NotAll Book Tag

The #NotAll Book Tag

I’m one of those people who absolutely generalizes when she complains about things.  Everything is the worst or I love everything about something.  It’s a bad habit, and one I want to try and overcome because stereotyping is horrible, whether it’s people or days of the week or books or whatever.  Today’s book tag totally brings that vibe. Thanks to the Orangutan Librarian for creating this #notall book tag!  It’s a fun idea, and I absolutely stole this from Holly @ Nut Free Nerd a little over a year ago.  Thanks, Holly for bringing this tag to my attention! #NotAll Cover Changes || […]

10 Love Stories That Melt My Heart

10 Love Stories That Melt My Heart

Earlier this month, I did the Anti-Valentines Book Tag, which was all about how I’m not a romantic and how my husband and I don’t celebrate Valentines Day.  I don’t want y’all to get the wrong idea though!  I’m not against love.  Cheesy love stories make me roll my eyes, but dang there are some out there that I’m crazy about. Some of them even make me go weak at the knees.  And while I complain a lot about a love story overriding the main plot, sometimes the love story subplot is the icing on the cake.  Here are ten couples whose love stories […]

So Long to Apple Cider & Autumn Leaves: The October Wrap Up

So Long to Apple Cider & Autumn Leaves: The October Wrap Up

October is my favorite month of the year.  Between the spooky Halloween aesthetics, nutmeg and clove in the air, and beautiful leaves… it’s the most gorgeous month of the year in New England.  Add in the fact that it’s no longer 90-degrees with 100% humidity and that my birthday is in October, this is just generally a good month.  And while I’m sad to see it go, I’m excited to see what November will bring. Without further ado, I present: October. Remember last month when I only hauled two books?  Yeah, that was adorable.  The beginning of October typical means a […]

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #5: Where? BACK TO THE FUTURE.

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #5: Where? BACK TO THE FUTURE.

Today is October 21st. It is tradition, in our little household, that on October 21st we watch Back to the Future.  All three of them.  I grew up on these films and so did my husband – we both love them.  The tradition started on October 21st, 2015.  It’s the date, in the second movie, when they went back to the future.  Now we just sort of keep it up, because traditions are fun. It’s been an alright week.  I’ve read four books out of my TBR Jar since the last time I updated – three for the Off the Grid […]

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I underestimated this book soooooooo much. Six of Crows is everything I wanted and more. This book is filled with incredible, well-layered characters and set in a world were I could feel the cold and smell the salty sea.  I was interested in Shadow and Bone but not obsessed.  I thought the love story was cheesy and I didn’t expect anything more from Six of Crows.  I didn’t expect a full-fleshed story where the relationships were subplots, and I didn’t expect to like all the characters. I’m pretty sure that everyone has already read Six of Crows, but if you haven’t… spoilers to follow. Lets […]

Weekly Team Time For My Soul #3 – A Week With the Dregs

Weekly Team Time For My Soul #3 – A Week With the Dregs

Good morning my beautiful monsters. How are you all on this lovely autumn morning? I know I’ve been talking for months about how I can’t wait for autumn to arrive, et voila!  It’s finally here and I couldn’t be more thrilled.  The air is crisp and fresh, and tinges of apple and pumpkin seem to radiate in the soft winds.  Here in New England, the leaves have started to gain the slightest tint of red and orange. I love autumn. As you know from my September Wrap Up, it’s been a busy month. I’m grateful to be moving into October, where […]
