12 Books That Kept Me Reading Even When 2020 Was Too Much

I have never faced a reading slump quite like the year 2020. Everyone has their reasons for not meeting personal goals and reading challenges last year.  Early on, there was this expectation that being stuck-at-home was going to mean loads of reading, but somehow, that didn’t pan out.  I’ll tell you what I did a lot of in 2020, and that is video games.  Over 400 hours logged on Animal Crossing and I got Pokemon Sword at the end of the year so that started usurping a bunch of my time as well. Reading, though?  Reading started to feel like a […]

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a really nice weekend and have a really nice day today. In August, Laura over at The Corner of Laura tagged me in the Sunshine Blogger Award!  This is the third time I’ve been nominated for this one and you can read my previous answers here and here.  I love this award – just the name is so cheerful!  Thank you so much to Laura for the nomination!  Also – she dropped a post side-eyeing the new Fantastic Beasts content back in October that was interesting reading, I recommend it. Rules […]

This book delivered. When you’ve been waiting to read a book for seven years, you have a certain level of expectations for the content it’s going to deliver.  In the case of Solutions and Other Problems, I had one requirement: this book needs to make me laugh out loud.  Very few books do that for me – off the top of my head, I only think of Lamb and Allie’s first book, Hyperbole and a Half.  But it did. Not only did Solutions and Other Problems make me laugh out loud, it made me cry tears of laughter.  And considering the fact that I was […]

Fall is Here! And So Is My September Wrap Up!

Fall is Here! And So Is My September Wrap Up!

Hello beautiful people, and happy September?  I LOVE this time of year!  Since we didn’t go on any vacations this year, I saved up my precious paid-time-off and put it all into the fall because there’s no time I’d rather sleep in and linger lazily outdoors.  Summer is a little too warm for my comfort – but autumn?  Autumn in New England is one of the most beautiful things. And with the changing leaves and the smell of backyard campfires in the air, I’m doing my absolute best to remain positive.  The loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg hit me hard […]
