I’ve been thinking a lot about leaving the book community. I understand on surface level how absurd of a comment this is.  Leave the book community?  I’m barely in it!  I’m rubbish at blog hopping and only tiptoe around Twitter.  I’m only in one Discord server that rarely has activity and even interactions on my “active” fronts – the blog and bookstagram – are middling at best. It’s more… the content creation aspect.  I have a lot of ideas of things to write about, but I’m not sure the interest is out there.  There are some other aspects as well. […]

Hi loves! It’s be a little while since I did a blogger showcase, so I thought I’d share some more of my favorite book bloggers.  These folx have great content and are lovely human beings and I recommend their blogs highly! For an extra chocolate drizzle of fun and excitement, none of these book bloggers focus on a lot of mainstream titles, although they pepper them in from time to time.  If you want to broaden your reading horizons and have conversations about classics or the community, blogging as a hobby, and/or writing… I recommend these blogs! Today is the final chapter of the “What I Have Learned on Bookstagram” small feature.  Are you guys sick of hearing about bookstagram yet?  It’s okay if you are. 🙂 This last entry should feel a little bit self-explanatory, but nevertheless, I think it bears repeating.  If you want to be a part of a community – any community – one of the best ways to cement your place there is to participate in the community. On bookstagram, that means: following other accounts. interacting with other posts (likes and comments). posting in your stories. starting (and participating in) conversations. participating […]

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! Today on the “What I Have Learned So Far on Bookstagram” series, I want to talk about hashtags. I’ve seen people have mixed feelings about hashtags.  A lot of people don’t care for them because they can look a bit sloppy in the caption section of the post and bookstagrammers are particular about their visual aesthetic.  However, hashtags let you file your post in certain discussions, increasing the chance to be seem by different people in the community.   So a couple things about the location of hastags.  Like I before, many people feel […]
