An End to ARCs & a Start of Snowstorms – My January 2022 Wrap Up

Good morning everyone! I hope your days are treating you well and you are bright with purpose and warm with contentment. We are officially one month (and a few days!) into 2022! I have entered the year with great trepidation. After all, we were foolishly hopeful for 2021, and look where that got us! Personally, I feel like I’m stuck in purgatorio, trapped in that place Dante Alighieri talks about between heaven and hell where the root of all sin is caused by too much of a good thing. For me, that’s hope. It’s always hope. Hope is the most […]

The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi

The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi

I’ve got some mixed feelings about The Bronzed Beasts. It’s the third book in a trilogy I have, as a whole, loved. Chokshi’s writing remains vibrant and beautiful – some of the most beautiful sentences I’ve ever read come from Roshani Chokshi’s brilliance. When I like a series, a book, an author as much as I have enjoyed Chokshi’s Gilded Wolves trilogy, I am not always objective as I should be. I did not like the ending. Any of the endings, if I’m being honest. There was something so sad about it all, and I see what Chokshi did and […]

The Cold Wild Yonder – My December 2021 Wrap Up

There’s a sort of peace that comes to me at the end of December, like exhaling a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Cliché, I know, but it’s the best way I can think to describe that feeling of letting go. As I write this post, it’s Christmas morning. It’s peaceful where I am – no children, a soft candle burning, a cat curled up by my side, and my Apple Music 2021 remix playing in the background. Mornings like this teach me two things: My happiest moments are the quiet, little ones. My music taste remains the same […]

Confession… I Only Read One Hardcopy Book This Month: My November 2021 Wrap Up

I don’t want to talk about it. I haven’t even been in a reading slump. I haven’t been unentertained by books. In fact, I enjoyed the hardcopy book I was reading and have been looking forward to the next one! It’s The Heartbreak Bakery by A.R. Capetta for anyone who is wondering and I can’t wait to read it. So what’s the deal with the lack of the November reading? Listen. It’s not my fault. It’s Animal Crossing’s. Which I will get into later. To start with I’m going to totally pretend I had an AMAZING reading month and we’re […]

Hello my beautiful monsters! I came across a reel of Anne Frances Murphy singing “A Little Bit Alexis” in Schitt’s Creek a couple weeks ago, and it’s been annoyingly in my head ever since. We actually just finished Schitt’s Creek (I’m not a binge-watcher) so a year later, I’m finally caught up with the rest of the world! October is my favorite month of the year. At the beginning of October, we were just coming back from Alaska and at the end of October, we headed south to Orlando, Florida. In between these two adventures, we’ve been lucky to have […]
