January is the month that lasts forever. Here in the northern hemisphere, January is the first full month of really, really cold.  Well, at least it is in Massachusetts.  I’m looking forward to the thaw – I’m tired of shivering and numb fingers.  Grateful to have a home and a place with heat, so I try to focus on life’s small blessings instead of the single digit temperatures.   Well I have a few complicated feelings about this book?  Mostly because it deals with some really heavy topics – rape and murder. Normally in reviewing books I’ll talk about the characters and what I liked disliked but in The Female of the Species… one of your three perspectives is that of a killer. So how to talk about Alex?
