The Pancake Book Tag

The Pancake Book Tag

Hello loves! I’m sure you’ve all seen this one around, but Ayunda tagged me in this adorable tag a while back and I’ve just been waiting to throw my answers out in the universe.  Also, can we all appreciate just how adorable these headers are?  I die. Here are the rules as originally posted: Link back to the original creator in your post. Feel free to use any of my pancake graphics in your post, or create your own! Tag 5 other people at the end of your post, and let them know you’ve tagged them. Sorry not sorry for bringing […]

In Which It’s Too Hot, I Do Two Readathons, & I Bombard You With Reviews: The July Wrap Up!

In Which It’s Too Hot, I Do Two Readathons, & I Bombard You With Reviews: The July Wrap Up!

Good morning everyone! I’ll be completely honest, July didn’t go quite the way I was expecting in the book department!  That’s not a bad thing, but it was different!  I was planning to join with the Camp NaNoWriMo spirit and do a lot of writing and learning about writing, and instead I ended up participating in two readathons! It’s been fun but stressful.  It’s also been hot here in New England!  The heat waves have been coming by brutally, so it’s be a good time to read. And the reading?  The reading was good this month.  I actually delayed this wrap […]

In Which I Am Master of Everything (The Reading Rush 2019 Follow Up)

In Which I Am Master of Everything (The Reading Rush 2019 Follow Up)

AHHH GUYS. The Reading Rush was SO. MUCH. FUN. I am definitely on board to do this readathon again next year.  When I built my TBR for Reading Rush, I thought only of hardcopy books off my shelf, and as such this was the first time in ages I feel like I’ve been reading off my shelf.  Yes, I did throw War Girls in there because I felt like I still needed to follow my actual TBR a little, but otherwise?  It was just so nice to read some different books and to check off challenges and I loved it. So what […]

Mini Reviews: Tess of the Road, Daughter of the Burning City, & The Game of Love and Death

Mini Reviews: Tess of the Road, Daughter of the Burning City, & The Game of Love and Death

I know I rarely do mini reviews (read: never) but every once and a while, I do humor myself and re-read a book that I’ve read before.  For posts like these, I don’t think that a unique, standing review is strictly necessary.  After all, I’ve already outlined all the good stuff about these novels.  However, experiences differ between an initial read vs. a reread, and I still want to talk about these books. To solve the repeat-book dilemma, I’ve decided that every time I collect 3 re-reads, I’m going to give y’all a set of mini reviews!  Not as much of a […]

The Reading Rush – Booktube-A-Thon Has Been Reborn!

The Reading Rush – Booktube-A-Thon Has Been Reborn!

Hey y’all.  Have you heard of Booktube-A-Thon? Even though I’m not a Booktuber, don’t really follow much of Booktube… I know what this readathon is.  It’s an epic week-long readathon and it’s been around since 2013.  It’s the oldest online readathon I know of.  I’ve never participated.  As a blogger (not vlogger) I never really thought I could? Which is dumb, I know. Don’t get me wrong – I’m sure some people have joined it even without a Booktube… but this is really exciting for me.  With a brand new flashy website where you can sign up and earn badges, Booktube-A-Thon […]

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, This Is My December Wrap Up!

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, This Is My December Wrap Up!

Happy December, loves. This is it.  This is the end of the year, and fresh with good memories and bad ones – joy and regret.  This is the final push to reach our reading and writing and blogging goals.  I’ll be doing a proper 2018 wrap up tomorrow, but suffice it to say that things went well this year, at least as far as reading goes! I hope everyone has had a marvelous holiday season!  For myself, I am exhausted and excited for the year to be swinging to an end.  The holidays are always delightful, but tiring, don’t you […]
