It’s Too Darn Hot: The June Wrap Up

Truth?  I spent a lot of time in June hiding in our bedroom.  Why?  Because there’s an air conditioner in the bedroom and the temperature is lovely in there.  Honestly if we just moved the refrigerator up there, I’d never leave.  Well, almost never. Summer is not my favorite season.  I like it in theory and through windows, but as far as frolicking and enjoying the season? Ehhh, I’ll pass.  I get all sweaty and it’s icky.  If y’all haven’t figured it out yet, the only season I really like is autumn, and I adore autumn. But that’s alright, because you […]

The cover of this book is really pretty.  I really like the neon pinks and blues.  The cover has a cool, almost retro aesthetic that is extremely tempting as a cover buy.  And The Sound of Stars was mostly a cover buy for me because, well… I was bored. I’ll start off by saying that my boredom is not necessarily the result of a poorly written book, flat characters, or an uninteresting plot.  The thing that threw me off the narrative the most was the writing style.  In novels, there’s some level of balance between dialogue, description, and introspection in the […]

Obviously, my favorite covers will change from time to time. In the interest of keeping things contained and also promoting some newer books, I wanted to keep this list to […]

What I Have Learned So Far on Bookstagram; Pt. 4: Hashtags

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! Today on the “What I Have Learned So Far on Bookstagram” series, I want to talk about hashtags. I’ve seen people have mixed feelings about hashtags.  A lot of people don’t care for them because they can look a bit sloppy in the caption section of the post and bookstagrammers are particular about their visual aesthetic.  However, hashtags let you file your post in certain discussions, increasing the chance to be seem by different people in the community.   So a couple things about the location of hastags.  Like I before, many people feel […]

A New WIP, A Finished Constellation, & Studying Begins! – The February Wrap Up

GUYS GUYS GUYS GUESS WHAT. Winter is almost over. Here in Massachusetts, we probably still have a solid month of snow and cold and misery but THEN spring will be here!  And while, yes, I realize that really just adds mud into the mix, I’m still pleased.  I like the visual aesthetics of winter, but it really makes me hate leaving the house.  Particularly in the morning to go to work.  Also driving home in the dark is a major bummer.  I’m over it! Still, there was a lot of good to February, so lets get down to it! The Monthly Haul […]
