Anyone Hungry? How About a BURRITO BOOK TAG?

Anyone Hungry? How About a BURRITO BOOK TAG?

Do you guys every just go out hunting for fun book tags? I do.  I like to do the ones trending the community, I really do, but also?  It takes me so long to get to them that trying to keep in the trending curves feels a little pointless for me.  After all, I just did the #NowWeRise Book Tag, and that one was inspired by the release of Children of Blood and Bone.  So yeah, I got to that several months after the sequel was released.  I will never be on-trend, haha, but I’m okay with that! I found today’s book […]

My “Crossing” Booklist: Ten Favorite Books I Would Take To The New World (2020 Edition)

My “Crossing” Booklist: Ten Favorite Books I Would Take To The New World (2020 Edition)

You know that old question: “If you were stuck on a desert island and could only have 10 books, which 10 would you pick”?  It’s an old question, and one that pops up on Top Ten lists all the time.  In fact, I’ve already done a post like this, back in 2018!  At the time, the Top Ten Tuesday meme had a lot of great answers I’d ever thought of… including books that would actually be useful on a desert island. Honestly, I always interpreted that questions as “you’re stuck on an island, what books would you read over and over […]

2019: My Year in Books!

2019: My Year in Books!

Good morning everyone!  How has the beginning of 2020 gone for everyone so far?  Has everyone stuck to their New Years Resolutions?  I’m rubbish at resolutions, if I’m being completely honest, but one of my big ones this year is to take better care of myself physically – sleep, hydration, diet, etc.  I mean, most people have that, right?  Here’s hoping that I can keep to it, and you all are doing amazingly on your resolutions as well! Every year, I do a bit of a review on my blog to look at all the reading I did in the […]

December Chaos and Change and Delight – The December Wrap Up

December Chaos and Change and Delight – The December Wrap Up

Good morning and happy Monday!  I deeply hope that everyone celebrating their winter holidays over the last week or so have had a magnificent time of it, whether that’s Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, or what have you.  And if you haven’t been celebrating anything, well then, I just hope you’ve had a magnificent week! As I mentioned last month, this wrap up is going to be short and sweet without major highlights, as December has been absolutely bonkers. I’ll tell you all about it in the “Real Life” section below.  The end of the year is always busy, though, […]

My Absolute Favorite Ten Books of 2019!

My Absolute Favorite Ten Books of 2019!

New Years Eve is a day where many people take time to reflect on the year that has passed and all the things have done, the people we’ve spent time with, the places we’ve been… and in the case of book bloggers, the books we’ve read. Of course, this year is a big one, because not only is today the end of a year, but it’s an end of a decade.  I’m going to keep it simple and just keep it to 2019, but this has been a crazy decade!  Over the course of the last ten years, I’ve graduated […]

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

The Starless Sea was a book worth waiting for. The beautiful worldbuilding made me fall in love with The Night Circus despite the slow pacing because it was a world I wanted to be pulled into, to exist within the book’s pages because it is a beautiful place, if somewhat tragic at times.  The Starless Sea has that same magical aesthetic. Even after having read it, I feel as though there are so many mor doors to open, so many more paths to walk.  It is ripe for a retread, because the Harbor is not a place that can […]
