September Wrap Up

September Wrap Up

Well! September breezed through again – largely, I think, because I was on vacation this month! Regular readers and those who follow along on my Twitter or Instagram will know that my husband and I went down to Orlando to the Disney Parks last week! It was hot and exhausting but SO much fun. I’ll talk a little more about that later and in coming weeks. Not a big haul this month – City Of Ghosts was a preorder, and Dread Nation was half price on Amazon at the beginning of the month. I actually DO have more books coming, […]

The Witching Hour by Anne Rice

The Witching Hour by Anne Rice

I first read The Witching Hour in a two-year struggle between my last year of high school and freshman year of college.  At the time, I loved Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.  I loved the vampires themselves, the richness of the settings (from New Orleans to France and Italy).  I figured I’d love everything by Anne Rice, but The Witching Hour was such a drag… I had to force myself through. Let this be a lesson to you all – always write a review when you read a book.  If you write a review, you’ll remember all the reasons you loved and hated a […]

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #2 – Scripologists & Blacksmiths & My Mother-In-Law

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #2 – Scripologists & Blacksmiths & My Mother-In-Law

Good morning, loves. I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!  My work life has been winding down to busy normal – I was able to leave on time every day last week, which was fantastic.  It’s the little things in life!  I packed most our stuff for vacation today, and the cats have already claimed the suitcase. Reggie is a sweet cat, but he hates it when we travel.  He will maintain vigil on the suitcase until we leave, and at that time he will climb on the shelf and watch us leave, demanding last minute pets.  He’s sweet, […]

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #1 – A Gloom of Witches & Messy Love Stories

Weekly Tea Time for the Soul #1 – A Gloom of Witches & Messy Love Stories

Good morning, mes chers.  Happy Sunday!  How is everyone today? It’s a lovely late summer morning here – the weather outside pleasant enough that I can open the sliding screen door to the deck and let a little bit of fresh air in.  My husband’s still a-bed (I’m an early riser – he’ll be up in a few hours) and Lady Elizabeth is impatiently waiting for her breakfast. Sometimes, I wonder if the cats only love us for their food.  Then they spend the day cuddling, and I don’t wonder anymore. Has everyone had a good week?  I’ve been busy – […]

Welcome to Another Muggy Sunday

Welcome to Another Muggy Sunday

Good morning everyone! I just felt like doing a live, unplanned post this morning.  My catching up on blogging has been going really well since I mentioned in the July Wrap Up that I had nothing scheduled. I’m into the beginning of October now, so I’m well ahead.  I had one week when I was able to schedule a post a day, which is great!  Anyways, I just felt like saying hello live for a change. So – hi, hello, how are you?  Is anyone else in New England?  Is anyone else sick of all this heat and humidity?  If I’m not […]

The Mountain Book Tag

The Mountain Book Tag

Luana @ BookStorm Girl tagged me in this one no less than 9 months ago.  Oops!  By the time I reached this scheduled post, I forgot all about it, and now I am SO EXCITED to bring you this tag because it’s such a fun idea!  +10 points to Ditsha @ Bewitchingly Paranoid for pure brilliance in coming up with this(it was called the “Big Books Tag” back then), and another 10 to Luana for bringing it to my attention.. Besides, I’m all about bragging about the really long books I’ve read. For the purposes of keeping this interesting, I’m […]
