The Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag (2021 Edition)

Following tradition on this blog, the month of June means that at some point… we’ve got to do the Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag.  I love this tag because it’s so widely used in the community… but also from a personal perspective, it’s a time capsule for me and my reading experience.  Every year I continue to nod to the posts of the past so I can see what has changed… and all the books I “really want to read” that I still haven’t read. This year’s post is coming a little bit late – I know, I’m sorry! – […]

Feeling Hopeful Towards the Future – My May Wrap Up

Feeling Hopeful Towards the Future – My May Wrap Up

Hello loves and welcome to another monthly wrap up, where we talk all things books, reading, and writing in the month of May!  As you all know, April was a tricky month for me – I took a hiatus during April, for starters.  In watching my stats over the last couple years as well, I’ve found April to be a low reading month.  I always feel relieved in May when things start to look up a little, you know?  And they definitely looked up this year! Even though things aren’t “normal” still in the world, I have more hope for […]

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

I loved this book.  Full stop. This is my first Adam Silvera book, and I’m absolutely sold on his writing.  Any book that makes me feel like this gets major props.  I had a feeling I’d like it – I’ve had it on my shelf for about three years now – but I got to the audiobook first as part of my effort to read more diverse authors and I’m so glad I’ve read it now.  I can’t wait to read it again. You could pick apart a lot of holes in They Both Die at the End.  The romance is […]

Dear TBR Jar: Send Me These 9 Books

I have resigned myself to the fact that my TBR is eternal and there’s nothing I can do about it.  There are simply too many books out there that sound so wonderful, and life is too short… and these days, I really only have time to read on the weekends, anyway. Except for audiobooks.  With an 87 mile commute each way, audiobooks are my life.  All hail audiobooks! Because of my limited time and space, I’m supposed to be pretty strict about what I read.  I go through my TBR shelf on Goodreads in chronological order of when I added the […]

Books I Meant to Read in 2017 but Hahaha NOPE.

Books I Meant to Read in 2017 but Hahaha NOPE.

Aaaaah guys.  While 2017 was the best ever reading year for me (thank you audiobooks, I love you), I missed out on so many good, hype-ish things.  Things people loved.  Things I know I would love.  The books people started talking about last year and the books people have been talking about for ages. I want to read them all.  Can I just, like, clone myself and and have clone!me go to work and be social and whatnot while real!me drinks tea and reads books all day?  That’s a sustainable lifestyle, right? I’m telling myself that this year, I’ll get […]
