For women’s history month this year, I would like to focus on women in science fiction literature. We know incredible women like N.K. Jemisin and Ursula K. Le Guin who have changed and improved the genre. In 2020, there was nearly an equal amount of male and female authors publishing science fiction novels. There is still a lot of opportunity in the genre for greater overall gender diversity (non-binary authors only made up about 5% of publication).
