Bahamas Cruise 2019 // Aquaventure & Atlantis Hotel!

Bahamas Cruise 2019 // Aquaventure & Atlantis Hotel!

Matt and I are working our way through the Caribbean this year, and this fall’s trip was entirely focused on the Bahamas.  I am grateful we were able to visit in November – I know whenever there’s a natural disaster, a lot of tourists back out or the touring companies change their itineraries, which is really sad because that’s the time when the countries need the industry the most. And yes, I hear how privileged that sounds.  I know that tourists, and cruise ships in particular, do a lot of damage to their ports.  Despite my choice method of transportation, […]

The Kennedy Space Center (Bahamas Cruise 2/4)

The Kennedy Space Center (Bahamas Cruise 2/4)

The Kennedy Space Center. So much history in this place. This was an interesting trip for my husband and I – Matt loves the science of… anything… and I like the stories behind it that are imprinted into our history as humans.  The Kennedy Space Center provided both, and it was a cool place to go once in your life… if you find yourself in the area. Our tour started with the famous countdown clock from the press pit.  Now retired, this clock stands at the entrance of the Kennedy Space Center with a plaque proclaiming that it is the […]

Meet the Anthem of the Seas! (Bahamas Cruise 1/4)

Meet the Anthem of the Seas! (Bahamas Cruise 1/4)

There are a lot of different cruise ships out there on a lot of different cruise lines. Matt and I are by no means professional cruisers (but, full disclosure, full time cruising is my retirement plan) but we love being on board and have been testing out different ships as more and more cruise lines begin to said out of New York, Boston, and today… Bayonne, New Jersey! Our latest venture to the Bahamas was the first time I had personally cruised with Royal Caribbean.  I’ve done tours and reviews on a few other ships with other lines – the […]

A Very Bahamas Thanksgiving! (+ a Brief Hiatus)

A Very Bahamas Thanksgiving! (+ a Brief Hiatus)

‘Ello loves! A quick smol post today just to let you know that I’m off and away on the glorious Anthem of the Seas, on yet another cruise to the Caribbean!  American Thanksgiving is close upon us and rather than participate in the family festivities, my husband and I decided back in January that … the Caribbean would be nice.  For Thanksgiving. We love our family but we are very very excited to be heading to the Bahamas for the first time and we are so grateful to be able to take this trip after the damage caused by Hurricane […]

Adventures at Rhode Island Comic Con 2019

Adventures at Rhode Island Comic Con 2019

Hello everyone! A couple of years ago, I posted about my experience at Rhode Island Comic Con.  The TL;DR of that experience was that my feet hurt a lot, it was super crowded, and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to.  Of course, the flip side was that it’s such a cool experience and after my experience at BookCon earlier this year, I had been dancing around with the idea of trying the Con again. Long story short, a friend convinced me that a group of us should go et voila!  We ended up with a three day […]

The Ancient City of Tulum (Caribbean Cruise 4/4)

The Ancient City of Tulum (Caribbean Cruise 4/4)

The final leg of our Caribbean cruise adventure landed the Carnival Horizon at the port of Cozumel.  My husband was looking forward to the Cozumel stop, because he’d been there before.  The night before, he animatedly told me, “Make sure your camera is ready!  Cozumel is a beautiful port!”  It had been about ten years since he had last been to Cozumel, and he was excited to see it again. But, we never went to Cozumel, although the ship docked there.  Instead, we boarded a water taxi that took us across to Playa de Carmen. Playa de Carmen was still […]
